The Society\u2019s Conferences have been held in Moscow and Irkutsk (1993), Pereslavl (1995), Novgorod (1997), Saratov (1999), Moscow (2001), on Lake Baikal (2003), in St. Petersburg (2005), Sochi (2007), Kaliningrad (2009), Kemerovo (2011), Irkutsk (2013), Kazan (2015).<\/p>\n<p>The 14th\u00a0conference in Petrozavodsk will be devoted to the discussion of topical issues in the field of sustainable development of countries and regions, methodology and practices of establishing and developing the economic mechanism of nature management and environmental protection, including payments for the use of natural resources and environmental impact, assessment and elimination of accumulated environmental damage, development of environmental target programs, management of ecological and economic systems, the problem of interactions between authorities, business and civil society, environmental safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Topics of the conference:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>environmental policy in Russia and worldwide;<\/li>\n<li>economic instruments for regulating the use of natural resources and environmental protection;<\/li>\n<li>ecological and economic problems of development of northern and border territories;<\/li>\n<li>development of methods for evaluation of economic damage from environmental pollution; elimination of accumulated environmental damage;<\/li>\n<li>interactions between authorities, business and the civil society in dealing with ecological and economic problems;<\/li>\n<li>environmental and economic problems of Karelia;<\/li>\n<li>resources and energy saving;<\/li>\n<li>effectiveness of nature conservation activities;<\/li>\n<li>ecological-economic modeling;<\/li>\n<li>economic environmental impact assessment and expert review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conference languages<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Russian and English.<\/p>\n<p>Interpretation will be provided during sessions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The following awards will be given at the conference:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u201cFor outstanding achievement in ecological economics\u00a0research in Russia\u201d;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cFor the best conference presentation\u201d\u00a0<\/em>(awards to graduate and post-graduate students)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>International<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>Program<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>Committe<wbr \/>e<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clovis Cavalcanti (Brazil) \u2013\u00a0<em>Co-Chair<\/em>, ISEE President-Elect,<\/p>\n<p>Paul Safonov (Russia\/USA)\u00a0<em>\u2013\u00a0<\/em><em>Co-Chair,<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bobylev (Russia), I.
